Arrels, which means “roots” in English, is a Barcelona based footwear brand making shoes for the urban market. The blend of optimism, color and rhythm define the slogan of the company: “Upbeat shoes”.
Sona is the name I gave to my design and it’s based on a sound experiment I carried out in Barcelona. I recorded sounds in different spots of the city, processed them graphically, and then created the print using that graphic representation. As such, we can talk about different Barcelona neighborhoods, streets or emblematic spots - La Barceloneta, La Diagonal or the Collserola Tower - in a very characteristic way: through its sounds.
